Terms of use
Plain terms for a site that publishes information and nothing else. Last revised .
Summary in one paragraph
This is an independent, unofficial guide. It is information, not advice. We are not the Sparrow Wallet project and cannot help you recover a wallet. We will never ask for your seed words. Verify anything important against the official source, and accept that self-custody puts the consequences of a mistake entirely on you.
1. Acceptance
By using sparrow-wallet.app ("this site") you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the site. We may revise these terms at any time by publishing an updated version on this page; the revision date below tells you when that last happened, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
2. No affiliation with Sparrow Wallet
This is not the official website of Sparrow Wallet. We are an independent publisher and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Sparrow Wallet project, its developers, or any contributor to it. References to the software are descriptive.
The official project, including the only trustworthy source of the software itself, is reachable at sparrowwallet.com. We do not distribute, host, mirror, modify or sell the software, and we cannot vouch for any copy obtained anywhere other than the official project.
3. Information only — not advice
All content on this site is published for general informational and educational purposes. Nothing here is financial, investment, trading, tax, accounting or legal advice, an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset, or a recommendation that any particular course of action is suitable for you. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker, custodian or money services business, and we do not provide personalised recommendations.
Digital assets are volatile and self-custody carries irreversible risks, including permanent and total loss of funds through lost backups, user error, theft, malware or coercion. Confirmed Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed by us, by the Sparrow project, or by anyone else. You are solely responsible for your own decisions, your own security practices, and for complying with the laws and tax rules that apply where you live.
4. Accuracy, sources and currency of information
We take care to describe the software accurately and to attribute specific claims — version numbers, file names, supported devices, feature behaviour — to the official project's own published material at the time of writing. Software changes. Version-dependent statements may become wrong without notice, and pages carry the date they were last reviewed so you can judge that risk.
Comparisons, assessments, verdicts and warnings are our editorial opinion and are offered as such. We make no representation or warranty that the content is complete, current, accurate or fit for any particular purpose. Verify anything that matters against the official source before you act on it.
5. Security: what we will never ask for
We will never ask you for a recovery phrase, seed words, private key, wallet file, wallet password, exchange credentials, or remote access to your device, and we will never contact you first to offer support. Any message, page, application or person requesting those things is attempting to steal from you, regardless of what name or branding it uses.
We do not offer wallet recovery, key reconstruction, fund tracing or "unlocking" services, and we do not refer users to anyone who claims to. Treat every such offer as fraudulent.
6. Third-party links and services
This site links to third-party websites and services, including the official Sparrow project, hardware manufacturers, and platforms where bitcoin can be bought. Those destinations are outside our control. We do not operate them, do not warrant them, and are not responsible for their content, availability, security practices, terms, fees, eligibility rules or treatment of your data. Your dealings with any third party are between you and that third party alone.
Some outbound links may earn this site a commission if you go on to use the service. That arrangement has no bearing on our editorial content, ratings or criticisms, and creates no relationship between you and us. Read the terms and privacy policy of any service before you use it, and check whether it is available and lawful in your jurisdiction.
7. Intellectual property and trademarks
The original text, page design, code, data tables and illustrations on this site belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the page quoted. You may not republish substantial portions, scrape the site to build a competing resource, or present our content as your own or as the official documentation of any project.
"Sparrow Wallet" and any related names, logos or marks belong to their respective owners and are used here descriptively to identify the software discussed. The software itself is released by its developers under the Apache 2.0 licence, and nothing on this site grants or restricts any right in it. Diagrams representing the application interface are our own recreations, not project assets.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site unlawfully; not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any system connected to it; not to interfere with its operation; not to introduce malicious code; and not to use automated means to place unreasonable load on it. We may restrict access where necessary to protect the site or its readers.
9. Privacy
This site is a set of static pages. It does not require an account, does not ask for personal information, does not run advertising networks, and does not attempt to profile you. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply to you and to correct the site, and we do not sell or share it. Our hosting provider may process standard technical request data, such as IP addresses and user agents, in order to serve pages and defend against abuse.
10. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
This site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from or connected with your use of this site or reliance on its content, including loss of digital assets, loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the information on our about and contact pages, are the entire agreement between us regarding your use of this site.
12. Contact
